At the Pool
Why does this course cost so much more than traditional swimming lessons?
- This program was developed in the states and the proven method was brought home to South Africa.
- These private lessons, has the instructors undivided attention,
- In 3-6 weeks (NOT YEARS) they are taught the roll over breathing technique that can save their life in an aquatic accident.
- Traditional Swim Schools don’t attempt this method because it takes time, skill and patience.
How do payments work?
We require a 50% deposit to be paid in order to secure your slot. The balance of your payment is due at the midway point of the course, before the life saving back float is taught.
What happens after the course?
Once they’ve nailed the basics, we recommend moving into our weekly group lessons. It’s the perfect next step for stamina, strength, and social swimming
Scheduling & Lessons
What is the best age to start the course?
Once your child can walk, they can kick to swim! When these little humans are mobile and drawn to water, sadly, drowning is a primary concern.
Why every day? Isn’t that too much?
Daily lessons help toddlers and children to learn faster, reduce fear and anxiety, and build trust with their instructor. This takes into consideration the attention span of each age group.
Do you swim on public holidays?
Nope! We all get the day off to recharge. No lessons or make-ups on public holidays.
What if it’s raining or there’s lightning?
We’ll always put safety first. If we need to cancel due to weather, we’ll aim to reschedule when it’s safe.
At the Pool
Will my child cry?
Possibly. New faces, water, and separation anxiety can all feel big at this age, but it’s completely normal. If you stick to the program with consistent attendance, your child will quickly settle into their new routine and begin to trust their instructor.
What if my child isn’t fully potty trained yet?
That’s no problem! We provide reusable waterproof nappies that are required for any child who isn’t fully potty trained. They’re available for purchase directly from us and help keep the pool clean, safe, and comfortable for everyone.
Can I watch my child swim?
We totally get that you want to be close! But stepping back during lessons helps your child bond with the instructor, develop independence, and focus on their instructors' important verbal cues and encouragement.
Do I get in the water with my child?
Nope! It's only your child and their instructor one- on-one in the water for their lesson.
Does it matter if my child cannot talk yet?
Not at all. Swimming and floating are motor skills that can be taught to a baby through repetitive exercises, along with verbal cues and encouragement.
